FACTS & FAQS

What is IP?

The Ingress Protection (IP) rating is a standard used to indicate the level of protection provided by electronic enclosures against the intrusion of foreign bodies (such as dust and tools) and moisture. The IP rating is usually expressed as “IP” followed by two digits, with each digit representing a different level of protection. The first digit represents the level of protection against solid objects, while the second digit represents the level of protection against liquids. The higher the number, the greater the level of protection provided by the enclosure.
